Madrid's "Real" club recently suffered a narrow defeat (0:1) to "Liverpool" in a Champions League match. After the loss at Anfield stadium, according to Marca, the "royal club" leadership has become concerned about the problems that arise in games against strong opponents.
This trend was already observed during Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure: the Madrid giant often failed in matches against high-level rivals. Under current head coach Xabi Alonso, "Real" deserves recognition for achieving effective results against lower-level teams, but still faces difficulties in important matches.
The derby against "Atletico" in September (2:5) and the recent match held in England are examples of this. Xabi Alonso was appointed head coach in June of this year.
