
Uzbek athletes continue to successfully participate in the VI Islamic Solidarity Games, which are taking place in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. In the judo competitions, another compatriot of ours, Shahzodkhoja Sharipov, presented the delegation of our country with another gold medal.
Competing in the -90 kg weight category, Sharipov entered the ring against his Bahraini opponent in the final match. In the exciting and high-spirited competition, our compatriot demonstrated his superiority, won, and became the champion of the competition.
At the beginning of the match, both athletes acted cautiously. However, Shahzodkhoja, with his technical skills and tactical thinking, put his opponent in a difficult situation. After several attempts, he gained a decisive advantage with an effective strike and a knocking motion. The score remained unchanged until the end, and Sharipov won the gold medal.
After the competition, he said in his passionate words:
"This medal is a source of pride not only for me, but for all our people. The conditions created for us, the support of my team, and the dream of seeing our country's flag high led to victory."
With this result, Shahzodkhoja Sharipov won one of the important medals for the Uzbekistan delegation not only in judo, but also in the entire Islamic Games. His victory lifted the team's spirits and instilled confidence in the next stages of the competition.
Currently, Uzbek athletes are showing high results at the competition in Riyadh. They continue to compete for medals in various disciplines - boxing, track and field, and wrestling.
Thus, Shahzodkhoja Sharipov's victory is not only a success in one sport, but also a testament to the steady growth of Uzbek sports and the further strengthening of its prestige in international competitions.
