Manuel Neuer may return to the German national team

The possibility of Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer returning to the German national team remains open. Some representatives of the German Football Association have recommended head coach Julian Nagelsmann to consider the experienced footballer ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to journalist Tobi Altschäffl, Neuer’s return to the national team could depend on two main conditions: if Marc-André ter Stegen lacks game practice either at Barcelona or any other club, and if Nagelsmann personally supports the idea of bringing back the 39-year-old goalkeeper and convinces him to return. Manuel Neuer will turn 40 years old in March next year.
