Lion Fofana Not Planning to Part Ways

France's "Lyon" football club is not planning to sell one of its key players, Malik Fofana, according to Ligue 1 Plus. Currently, the 20-year-old Belgian winger is recovering from a ligament strain in his ankle sustained during a match against "Strasbourg" at the end of October.

Fofana, who has garnered interest from several top European clubs, is expected to return to the pitch in January. "The sale of Fofana in January is not being discussed," said the club's CEO, Michael Gerlinger.

At the same time, Gerlinger acknowledged that the club's financial situation is not stable, which may lead to the potential sale of other players during the upcoming transfer window. It is worth noting that last summer, "Lyon" faced the risk of relegation to a lower league due to debts.

To meet commitments to UEFA and the local football federation, the club had previously been forced to sell players Rayan Cherki and Georges Mikautadze.
