Barcelona President Speaks About Messi

The Catalan club "Barcelona" plans to erect a statue in honor of its former striker, Lionel Messi. This was announced by the club's president, Joan Laporta.

"We are preparing the statue project. We will consult with Leo's family.

If we receive consent, we will begin the work. Messi is eternally connected with Barcelona.

Our doors will always remain open for him. We respect him greatly, and therefore, we want to see him among the club legends," said Laporta.

Messi is a graduate of Barcelona's academy and played for the club's main team from 2005 to 2021.

Currently, the striker is playing for the U.S. team "Inter Miami."
