Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti has shared his thoughts on the current format of the Champions League. As is known, starting from last season, a general stage with 36 teams replaced the group stage.
"The idea to make the group stage more exciting was only partially successful: there are very good matches, but there are also many other games ending with scores like 7-0 or 8-1. It can be said that this is a contradiction: the idea was good, but now, as it was two years ago, real interest only begins in the knockout stage," Ancelotti told *La Gazzetta dello Sport.*
The reigning Champions League winner is Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
