Former "Manchester United" and Russia national team midfielder Andrey Kanchelskis commented on the Curaçao team's qualification for the World Cup. Under the leadership of Dick Advocaat, this team entered history as the smallest nation to ever participate in the tournament.
"Dick Advocaat has always been like this: he establishes discipline, teaches the team to play freely while meeting his requirements. There's a result—he is a great coach!" Kanchelskis said in an interview with the "Chempionat" publication.
Advocaat was unable to attend the decisive match between Curaçao and Jamaica. This game ended in a 0-0 draw.
It was previously reported that the coach had to temporarily leave the team due to family issues. Advocaat, who previously managed Saint Petersburg's "Zenit," the Russia national team, and several other clubs, continues to work in his current position.
However, reports suggest the Curaçao Football Federation is searching for a potential replacement for him. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
