Arteta explains why he joined Guardiola's team


Before taking over as the head coach of Arsenal at the end of 2019, Mikel Arteta spent three and a half seasons working on Pep Guardiola's coaching staff at Manchester City. He shared his thoughts on why he chose to join Guardiola's team at that time.

"Perhaps it was because our philosophical views and the upbringing we received at Barcelona were similar. Moreover, I believed that learning from other people and gaining various experiences was the right approach.

It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life," Arteta told *Sky Sports*. Arsenal currently leads the Premier League standings with 26 points after 11 rounds of matches.
