Szoboszlai responds to Irish criticism

“Liverpool” and Hungary national team midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has responded to criticism from Irish players. Szoboszlai faced criticism after the game against Ireland.

During the match, when Hungary scored their second goal to take the lead 2-1, Dominik made a hand gesture seemingly suggesting wiping away tears, directed at the opponents. However, Hungary lost the game 2-3 to Ireland on their home ground, thereby losing their chance to qualify for the World Cup.

Ireland, on the other hand, advanced to the playoff stage. "It’s still hard to accept what happened.

Unfortunately, we need to get used to it and move forward. The goal celebration was an inside joke within our team.

If it had been directed at the Irish players, I would have told them personally," Szoboszlai said in an interview with Blikk.
