
The draw for the intercontinental play-off matches for the qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup has taken place. Two more spots in the tournament will be contested in these matches.
The national teams of DR Congo and Iraq automatically qualified for the final stage due to their high rankings. The following matchups were determined in the draw: First Semi-final: New Caledonia vs. Jamaica First Final: Winner of the semi-final vs. DR Congo Second Semi-final: Bolivia vs. Suriname Second Final: Winner of the semi-final vs. Iraq All matches will be held at a neutral venue in Mexico at the end of March.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. So far, 42 teams have secured their spots in the tournament.
Two more teams will qualify through the intercontinental play-offs, while four further spots will be decided through UEFA play-off matches. The draw for the UEFA play-offs will take place in the coming days.
