Following the Super League's 29th round central match at the “Jar” stadium, “Nasaf” head coach Ro’ziqul Berdiev addressed journalists and answered key questions surrounding the game. The coach did not hold back — it was a challenging game, and certain factors significantly influenced the result.
"Had we utilized our opportunities, the score would have been different"
According to Berdiev, the team managed to create opportunities during the game, but the moments they worked on were not executed effectively in the final stages. He emphasized that if the necessary goal had been scored, the logical flow of the game could have completely changed.
The condition of national team returnees: "Being ready in 24 hours is challenging"
One of the most intriguing questions during the press conference was regarding the condition of players returning from the national team. Berdiev did not shy away from addressing it:
• Some of them could not join yesterday’s training session.
• “Pakhtakor” is facing similar issues — this is a frequent occurrence in football.
• When a player returns from national duty and has to take on the load within 24 hours without proper rest, it’s an immensely tough process.
For this reason, the coach had to give less playing time to Sherzod Nasrullayev. The other players were included in the starting lineup as they were generally calm and ready.
Berdiev openly stated:
“The returning players couldn’t perform at the level we were expecting. If the team had been able to train in full, the situation would have been different.”
Why hasn’t “Nasaf” won in the last four matches?
According to the coach, the issue is not a major problem but rather the team playing to its limits:
• Competing with nearly the same lineup for a long time requires significant effort.
• It’s becoming noticeable that some players are not physically prepared for certain matches.
• Therefore, instead of assigning blame, it is essential to appreciate the effort they are putting in.
Berdiev acknowledged that the results are unsatisfactory but emphasized that the team puts their hearts into every game.
What is the team’s plan ahead of the AFC Champions League elite stage?
At the end of the season, the team faces an important challenge — a match against “Al Ittihad.” According to the coach:
• First of all, the upcoming match against “Dinamo” must be completed properly.
• After that, the team will be given a short break.
• Then, the players will be gathered early, and special preparations for the AFC Champions League will begin.
