Kohr was sent off during the 88th minute of the Bundesliga's 11th round match against "Hoffenheim" (1-1). This marks his ninth red card in the Bundesliga, a feat no player in the league's history has ever achieved.

Previously, the record holders were Luiz Gustavo ("Hoffenheim," "Bayern," "Wolfsburg") and Jens Nowotny ("Karlsruhe" and "Bayer"), each with eight red cards. Dominik Kohr has been playing for "Mainz" since 2022.
