Liverpool Matches Leicester's Negative Record

In the 12th round of the English Premier League, Liverpool suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest at home. According to OptaJoe, Liverpool has become the fourth team in English top-flight history, as defending champions, to lose six of their opening 12 matches in a new season.

Prior to this, similar instances occurred with Blackburn in the 1995/96 season, Chelsea in the 2015/16 season, and Leicester City in the 2016/17 season. Currently, Liverpool sits in 11th place in the Premier League standings with 18 points.

The team is eight points behind the league leaders. In the next round, Arne Slot's squad will face West Ham away.
