Chilwell aims to return to England national team

Defender Ben Chilwell, deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea, transferred to Strasbourg at the start of the autumn season. The 28-year-old footballer shared his thoughts on the possibility of returning to the England national team.

"If I participate in the World Cup after being dropped from Chelsea's squad, it would be the ultimate response for many. That is my motivation.

"Chelsea were upfront in their communication with me, and I hold no grudges against them. However, I want to prove that many were wrong," Chilwell told BBC.

Additionally, Chilwell mentioned staying in touch with England national team head coach Thomas Tuchel. "We have been in contact since he took the role.

Let me put it correctly – I was informed there is a chance for my return," the footballer added. Notably, Ben Chilwell last played for the England national team in March 2024.
