The fifth round of the UEFA Champions League was a surprise for Bayern Munich - the Munich side suffered a 1-3 defeat to Arsenal in London, recording their first loss of the season. Although this result was unpleasant for the team and fans, head coach Vincent Kompany expressed a very open and fair opinion after the duel.
He said that in football, any club can lose, and this is natural. Bayern started the game with enthusiasm, took control in the opening minutes, but unexpectedly conceded a goal. Despite this, the team did not lose their vigilance and managed to equalize with fiery discipline.
Kompani did not hide the fact that he trusted his players during the break - he said that if the game continues in the same spirit, there is a possibility of turning the game. But the second half changed the whole picture: Bayern couldn't find their rhythm, struggled to cope with strong pressure, and couldn't properly finish attacks at crucial moments.
The coach highlighted Arsenal's performance in the second half, stating that the hosts capitalized on every opportunity and left virtually no chance. He concluded his thoughts with a sharp conclusion:
- I don't want to look for any excuses. Arsenal played stronger than us today. "They won the full victory," said Kompani.
The Munich side will now prepare for the upcoming matches with accumulated mistakes and conclusions. The tournament hasn't ended yet, but this defeat has become a serious warning signal for Bayern Munich.
