Real secures victory in Piraeus at last

Real Madrid has finally secured a victory against Olympiakos in Piraeus. The visitors scored four goals against the local team, which was sufficient to claim a win despite conceding three goals themselves.

This victory was achieved on Real Madrid’s fifth attempt in European tournaments held in Piraeus. These two teams first met on November 5, 1997, during the UEFA Champions League in Piraeus.

That game ended in a goalless 0-0 draw. Later, on September 15, 1999, the match concluded in a 3-3 draw.

On December 6, 2005, Olympiakos defeated the "Galacticos" 2-1. The game held on November 6, 2007, ended again in a 0-0 draw.

Real Madrid waited the longest to secure their first away victory in European tournaments against AC Milan. Their inaugural away victory against Milan came in the eighth encounter.
