Szczesny: I Played for Free at Barcelona

Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has disclosed the financial terms of his collaboration with the club. In October last year, the Catalan giants persuaded the Polish goalkeeper, who had ended his football career, to return to the sport.

In January, the experienced goalkeeper outperformed Iñaki Peña in competition and became the main goalkeeper for the "Blaugrana." "During my first season at Barcelona, I played for free.

The amount I received from the club was exactly the same as the sum I paid to terminate my contract with Juventus early," the 35-year-old footballer admitted in an interview with Barca Universal. In July, Szczesny signed a new contract with Barcelona which extends until 2027.
