Yuran Says Situation at Khimki Will Not Repeat

Yuran: 'They assured me the situation at Khimki would not repeat'
Sergey Yuran, the former head coach of Turkey's "Serik Belediyespor" football club, stated that he spoke with Tufan Sadigov before taking over the team. According to Yuran, the investor assured him that the issues associated with Russia's "Khimki" club would not be repeated in Turkey.

As a reminder, "Khimki" failed to obtain a license from the Russian Football Union for the 2025/2026 season and was subsequently excluded from the competition. The club later declared bankruptcy and ceased operations. "Initially, completely different promises were made.

Before I joined 'Serikspor' as the head coach, Tufan Sadigov and I had a conversation. He told me that the club's budget in Turkey would be managed differently and that all payments would be made on time," Yuran's words were cited by "Sport-Express."

At the same time, the specialist admitted that he wanted to test his abilities in a foreign championship, though he had certain concerns. In the end, "Serik" faced several months of unpaid wages, which ultimately led to Yuran's departure from the club.
