Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca expressed his satisfaction with his players' performance against Arsenal in the London derby. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but the result seems even more valuable considering that the Blues played half the game with 10 men after Moises Caicedo was sent off around the 45th minute.
According to Maresca, the match once again demonstrated the team's correctness.
"I always say one thing - we strive to show a unique, attractive football. When we played with the full squad in the first half, we were significantly superior to our opponents. After Caicedo's red card, the situation changed dramatically, but the team didn't break down," said the coach.
He said Chelsea had tried to find the necessary tactical positions and tried to exploit the gaps on the wings through Malo Gusto and Estevao.
"Of course, it's unpleasant that we didn't win. But today we have every reason to be happy. Compared to last season, we are stronger. By February-March, we will see where we are and set new goals accordingly," Maresca added.
