Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made important comments about Erling Haaland's role after the intense match against Fulham. Journalists asked him if the Norwegian super striker was the strongest forward in EPL history.
Guardiola answered this question with his usual caution and restraint:
"I can't say he's the best striker in league history. England has had very strong forwards at different times. Haaland is also among them, but it's not explicitly stated that he is superior to everyone. But one thing is clear - statistics will close all arguments. Today the team worked for him, and that made me happy," Guardiola said in an interview with Sky Sports.
In fact, Haaland has proven everything with the numbers. In the 14th round match against Fulham, he scored his 100th Premier League goal. Most surprisingly, only 111 meetings were enough for him. In doing so, he achieved a result faster than many legends in league history.
The Norwegian striker's excellent form shows that City's goal machine is back in full operation. His high tempo and accurate shots remain a decisive factor in the club's fight for the championship.
Despite all his praise, Guardiola is trying to humiliate Haaland and keep him from losing his appetite and desire to develop. Therefore, it's clear that Premier League fans expect many more records and brilliant performances from Haaland.
