Former French national football team star Emmanuel Petit has expressed his disbelief in Barcelona's chances of winning the Champions League. Currently, the "Blaugrana" are leading the Spanish league standings; however, their performance on the European stage has been less favorable. After five matches in the group stage, they have accumulated only seven points and occupy 18th place in the standings.
"Barcelona can compete for victory in La Liga but not in the Champions League – never. Does anyone believe this team can win with such a defense?
It’s impossible. We saw this during the matches against Inter.
How can you concede seven goals in the semi-final? Someone might argue they scored six, but that doesn’t justify them," Petit’s statement was quoted by The Touchline.
On December 9, the Catalan giants will host Germany's Eintracht on their home ground.
