Messi Questions Participation in 2026 World Cup

Argentina national team forward Lionel Messi has spoken about the possibility of participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. "I hope I will still be there at that time.

I have expressed this desire before. At the very least, I will participate as a spectator, but even that would be special in its own way.

The World Cup holds a special significance for every country, especially for us, as we experience it differently," Messi said in an interview with ESPN. As a reminder, the Argentina national team is the current World Champion.
