Tarkhanov Names Favorite for 2026 World Cup

Alexander Tarkhanov, who has served as head coach for several Russian clubs, named Spain's national team as the main favorite for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. According to him, the tournament’s victory will, as usual, be contested by the strongest teams from Europe and the Americas.

"From the American teams, Brazil and Argentina. As for Europe, there are many strong teams: France, England, Germany.

The Netherlands also currently have a strong team. Judging by the group stage matches, England, France, and Spain stand out.

First place, probably, belongs to Spain," Tarkhanov said in an interview with "Match TV." The tournament's draw ceremony was held in the United States and was attended by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
