Nepomnyashiy Says He Did Not Approve Safonov's Transfer to PSG

Renowned coach Valeriy Nepomnyashchy shared his thoughts on Matvey Safonov's situation at PSG. This season, the Russian goalkeeper has yet to make an appearance on the field.

"A goalkeeper needs to play, not sit on the bench waiting for his turn. I did not support Safonov's move to PSG from the very beginning.

If a goalkeeper doesn’t play, he begins to lose his skills," Nepomnyashchy told "Championat". Earlier, it was reported that PSG's main goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier, will miss the upcoming Ligue 1 match against Rennes due to injury.

It is expected that Safonov will make his first start of the season in this match. The clash between PSG and Rennes, part of the 15th round of the French Championship, is set to take place today, December 6.
