Roberto Baggio Calls for Italy's Return to the World Cup


The renowned former Italian footballer Roberto Baggio shared his thoughts on the Italian national team’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. "I hope that Italy will finally return to the World Cup.

I believe they will be there and will not disappoint the people eagerly awaiting the tournament," Baggio told Triveneto Goal. The Italian team secured second place in their group during the qualification stage for the 2026 World Cup, trailing behind Norway.

The team, led by Gennaro Gattuso, is set to face Northern Ireland in a playoff match in March. If Italy secures qualification for the World Cup, they will play in a group alongside Canada, Qatar, and Switzerland.
