The head coach of the Egyptian national team, Hossam Hassan, shared his thoughts regarding the group stage draw results of the FIFA World Cup. In the 2026 tournament, which will be held in three countries, Egypt finds itself in Group G alongside Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand.
"Both Belgium and Iran are strong teams. There are no easy games in the World Cup, and we will play at a high level against the best teams.
Egypt has big ambitions, and we will strive to go as far as possible," Hassan said in an interview with ahram.org. "We will focus on our work.
After the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, we will have time to prepare for the World Cup. Additionally, the friendly matches held during international breaks will serve as good opportunities for our preparation.
Anyone who wants to advance far and bring joy to the fans must work very hard and remain committed to the goal," Hassan added. The Egyptian national team is currently ranked 34th in the FIFA rankings.
