Guberniev Shares Thoughts on Safonov

Matvey Safonov made his debut for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the 2025/2026 season on Saturday. Renowned sports commentator Dmitriy Guberniev shared his opinion on the matter.

"Safonov is an excellent football player! He is playing for a very strong team, a club that has won the Champions League.

He is not afraid of competition and is striving to succeed in this competitive environment. This deserves great respect," Guberniev said in an interview with "Championship".

Guberniev wished Safonov success as he continues his career with PSG and highlighted the Russian goalkeeper's determination. PSG's main goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier, has recently been unable to play due to health issues.

Safonov stepped onto the field and maintained a clean sheet during the match. PSG defeated Rennes with a dominating 5-0 victory.
