The head coach of the Moroccan national football team, Walid Regragui, shared his thoughts on the group stage draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Morocco has been placed in Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti.
In an interview reported by The Daily Star, Regragui focused mainly on Brazil's national team. "We will be playing one of the favorites from the very beginning of the tournament, and they too will face one of the favorites right from the start," said the coach.
He also recalled Morocco's fourth-place finish in the previous World Cup. "Playing the first matches against the potential group winner has never been easy.
They have chosen one of the best coaches who is experienced and capable of maintaining composure," Regragui added. "We will strive to play at a high level and ensure that our fans are proud of us." Currently, the Moroccan team ranks 11th in the FIFA rankings.
