Nepromnyashiy: Safonov Must Perform at the Highest Level

Football expert Valeriy Nepomnyashchy shared his thoughts on Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov’s performance for PSG. Safonov managed to keep a clean sheet in two matches following Luka Chevalier's injury.

«His skills are of the highest level, and he must perform at the top level. God willing, Matvey will take full advantage of this opportunity,» the expert stated in an interview with «Championat».

It should be noted that Safonov preserved his goal intact during the Champions League group stage away match against Athletic Bilbao (0-0) and in the French league match against Rennes (5-0). The 26-year-old Russian goalkeeper’s contract with PSG is valid until June 2029.

His market value is estimated at €18 million.
