Holland: I Might Cry During the World Cup

Manchester City and Norwegian national team striker Erling Haaland admitted that he might not be able to hide his emotions when Norway's national anthem is played during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. For the first time since 1998, the Norwegian national team has qualified for the World Cup final stages.

Additionally, Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge, played for the Norwegian national team during the 1994 FIFA World Cup, which was held in the United States. "My father played in the 1994 World Cup in the USA.

So coming here and having the chance to play is truly a special feeling. Perhaps I might cry when the anthems are played," Haaland shared in an interview with CBS Sports.

The Norwegian national team finished first in their group during the qualifying stage, securing a direct entry to the World Cup. It should be noted that, for the first time, this tournament will be hosted across three countries—USA, Canada, and Mexico—and will feature 48 teams.
