Liverpool head coach Arne Slot explained why the team's forward Mohamed Salah was not included in the match squad for the UEFA Champions League game against Inter. According to Slot, he was involved in the decision-making process, as he is part of the club and remains in constant contact with Sporting Director Richard Hughes.
"As part of the club, I also took part in making this decision. I am in regular communication with the club's management, but the final decision on who to take to the game or leave out is made by me. However, this doesn't mean that I don't have discussions with the club's Sporting Director, Richard Hughes. I always have the final say regarding the squad. It has always been this way," Slot said.
Mohamed Salah had earlier expressed a series of criticisms towards Liverpool and the head coach. For this reason, he was excluded from the squad for the game against Inter. This decision is being viewed as a reflection of internal moods or disagreements within Liverpool's processes.
