Steven Gerrard Expresses Desire to Return to Liverpool, Negotiations Underway

Former Liverpool midfielder and captain Steven Gerrard has expressed a strong desire to return to the club and is reportedly ready to take over as interim manager if Arne Slot is dismissed. This was reported by the publication Football Insider.
According to the source, the club's management has discussed the possibility of appointing Gerrard as interim head coach. However, in such a scenario, Gerrard may have to forgo a significant portion of the earnings he amassed during his time at Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittifaq club. It is noted that this issue is related to tax obligations.
In addition, the situation is expected to remain unresolved until around April, when the 2024–2025 tax year concludes.
For reference, Steven Gerrard served as the head coach of Aston Villa during the 2021–2022 seasons. If he returns to Liverpool, it could mark the beginning of a new era for the club.
