Dmitry Cheryshev Evaluates Russia National Team's Year

Russian expert Dmitry Cheryshev evaluated the performance of the Russian national team in 2025 and the activities of the national team under the leadership of Valery Karpin. According to him, the national team is currently operating under special circumstances as it is deprived of the right to participate in official international competitions.

Cheryshev emphasized that friendly matches play a significant role under such conditions. He noted that, considering all the restrictions, the national team performed decently throughout the year.

"The Russian national team had a good year, taking into account the existing circumstances. The 2025 friendly matches were important to maintain the stability of the national team.

In the current situation, organizing gatherings and testing players is necessary. Most importantly, Karpin had the opportunity to observe the players in action," Cheryshev said in an interview with Metaratings.ru.
