Safonov Concedes Goal After Three Consecutive Clean Sheets

Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov conceded a goal for the first time in his last three matches. He started in the main lineup during the Ligue 1 Round 15 match against Metz.

Safonov conceded a goal in the 42nd minute after a strike by Jessy Demingué. Thus, the goalkeeper's "clean sheet" streak, excluding stoppage time, lasted nearly five halves, or 222 minutes.

Previously, he kept a clean sheet in the Ligue 1 match against Rennes as well as in the Champions League game against Athletic Bilbao. It should be noted that before the match with Rennes, Safonov had not featured in any games during the 2025/2026 season.

By the end of the first half, PSG is leading 2–1 thanks to goals from Gonçalo Ramos and Quentin N'Djanti.
