The Manchester United management has denied claims by midfielder Bruno Fernandes that the club was ready to part ways with him last summer. Earlier, the Portuguese player stated that he had the impression that his potential departure would not be a problem for the club, adding that such indications had hurt him.
However, sources within the club emphasize that the management's position was different. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Manchester United had never considered selling Fernandes and had intended to continue their collaboration from the outset.
It was reported that the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal had shown interest in the midfielder. Nevertheless, Manchester United's management clarified that they were not willing to let go of one of their key players.
Fernandes continues to be viewed as an essential figure in the club's long-term plans. It is worth noting that Bruno Fernandes previously stated, "I have never made money the main criterion," while also alluding to a potential departure from Manchester United.
