David Alaba Names Arne Slot Coach of the Year

On Tuesday, the FIFA award ceremony for the year's best football players and coaches took place. The winners were determined through voting by national team captains and head coaches.

Real Madrid defender, Austrian David Alaba, placed his teammate Kylian Mbappé at the top of his ranking. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) players Achraf Hakimi and Ousmane Dembélé secured the second and third spots, respectively.

In the Best Coach of the Year category, Alaba awarded first place to Liverpool manager Arne Slot, second place to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, and third place to Portugal national team head coach Roberto Martínez. Regarding goalkeepers, no major surprises were observed: Alaba ranked his teammate Thibaut Courtois first, followed by Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer in second, and Manchester City's Gianluigi Donnarumma in third.

Donnarumma previously played for PSG as well. FIFA's Best Men's Player of the Year award went to Ousmane Dembélé.
