Bologna Secures First Penalty Shootout Victory Since 1995


The second semifinal match of the Italian Super Cup has concluded, and the tournament bid farewell to Milan’s second club, Inter. The team was eliminated by "Bologna," the reigning Italian Cup holder.

Interestingly, "Bologna" had also defeated "Milan" in the final of that same Italian Cup. This time, the team prevailed thanks to a cooler performance during the penalty shootout.

It is noted that "Bologna" had not won a penalty shootout in the 21st century until now. The club’s previous success in penalties dates back to December 13, 1995.

At that time, "Bologna" eliminated "Milan" from the Italian Cup quarterfinals by being more precise in executing penalties.
