West Ham head coach Nuno Espírito Santo spoke to the media ahead of the Premier League's Matchweek 17 game against Manchester City. The match is scheduled to take place on December 20 at 18:00 Moscow time.
The coach stated that the team has not faced any significant issues following their last match. Striker Niclas Füllkrug returned to training on Thursday.
El-Hadj Malik Diouf and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, however, will not be available to assist the team due to their participation in the Africa Cup of Nations. "I’m happy for them.
This was part of the schedule, and now we need to manage the situation properly. We will try to find players in the squad who can replace them and play in multiple positions," Nuno told BBC.
The coach also openly acknowledged the team’s challenges: "We often take the lead in games, but we struggle to maintain our advantage. This is a fact.
Matches last 90, sometimes 100 minutes, so we must stay focused until the very end. We are working on improving this psychological aspect in our players."
In the league standings, Manchester City is in second place with 34 points, while West Ham is in 18th place with 13 points. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
