
Bologna FC has announced that their attacking midfielder Federico Bernardeschi suffered a collarbone fracture during the Italian Super Cup semifinal match against Inter. The match, held on December 19 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, ended in a 1-1 draw in regular time.
Afterward, Bologna triumphed 4-3 in the penalty shootout, securing a spot in the final. The team is set to face Napoli in the final match, scheduled for the upcoming Monday.
According to the club’s statement, Bernardeschi will require surgery, which is planned for Tuesday. The player is expected to be sidelined for approximately six weeks, meaning he will be unable to assist his team in the Super Cup final.
