Vyacheslav Malafeyev Recognizes Safonov's Historic Achievement

Former goalkeeper of Zenit St. Petersburg, Vyacheslav Malafeev, highly praised Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) goalkeeper Matvey Safonov for his outstanding performance in the Intercontinental Cup match against Brazil's Flamengo. Safonov successfully saved four penalty shots during the shootout.

"We are all very happy for Matvey. I can't recall such an instance in my memory, especially at this level.

It should be noted that the match ended in a 1-1 draw during regular time. In the subsequent penalty shootout, the Parisian giant secured a 2-1 victory.
