Mbappe Matches Ronaldo's Record and Addresses Him

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé gave an interview following the match against Sevilla (2-0). The 27-year-old French striker successfully converted a penalty during the game.

This goal marked Mbappé's 59th goal for Real Madrid in the current calendar year. With this achievement, he tied the club's record for most goals in a calendar year, a record set by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2013.

According to Mbappé, Ronaldo has always treated him well, helped him adapt to life at Real Madrid, and they have become friends. The forward extended his best wishes to Ronaldo, congratulating him on Christmas and the New Year.

"This is a special day for me. I matched the record of the best player in Real Madrid's history and my childhood idol.

Today's celebration is dedicated to Ronaldo as a show of my respect for him," Mbappé said, as quoted by Madrid Universal. Notably, Cristiano Ronaldo represented Real Madrid from 2009 to 2018.
