Safonov Reveals Most Memorable Event of 2025


In a New Year’s video prepared by the Russian national team’s press office, Valery Karpin asked Matvey Safonov about the most memorable event of 2025. “The Champions League victory.

That truly stands out,” replied Safonov. During the 2024/2025 season, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) won the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

In the final, Luis Enrique’s team achieved a dominant 5-0 victory over Inter Milan. Safonov participated in two matches during PSG’s victorious Champions League campaign: against Girona (1-0) and against Bayern Munich (0-1).

Currently, PSG ranks third in the group stage standings of the Champions League.
