Guardiola delivers bad news: Savinho out for 2 months

Another piece of bad news has arrived for Manchester City fans. Head coach Josep Guardiola openly said that winger Savinho’s injury is not minor and slightly cooled hopes of a quick return to the pitch.
The Brazilian picked up the injury in the match against Sunderland (0–0). After that game, Savinho’s condition was under the spotlight, as City rely heavily on wide activity in attack. Now Guardiola has clarified the situation in his post-match press conference after the Brighton game (1–1).
“Savinho will be out for a long time. For about 1.5–2 months he won’t be with us. He will return to the pitch again this season,” the Spanish coach said.
So this is not a simple “one or two games out”: Savinho won’t be able to help the team in the coming months. Still, there is a small positive for fans — Guardiola expressed confidence that he will return this season.
For the record, 21-year-old Savinho has made 15 Premier League appearances for Manchester City this season, registering 1 assist.
Now City’s task is clear: as the team continues to fight for results, they will have to tactically replace Savinho, covering pace and creativity on the wing through other resources. The season is long and the schedule is tight — so this absence is not a “minor detail” but a factor that can affect the team’s rhythm.
