Pakhtakor squad reshuffle: six players leave the team

Tashkent’s Pakhtakor are not having a quiet winter break as usual — major changes are underway in the squad. The club’s press service officially reported that, due to expired contracts, the team has parted ways with six players.

The official statement notes that goalkeeper Nikita Shevchenko, foreign players Jonatan and Brayan Riascos, as well as Umar Adhamzoda, Diyor Kholmatov and Bobur Abduxoliqov have now left Pakhtakor as free agents.

This decision, naturally, has sparked mixed reactions among fans: some regret certain departures, while others see it as a natural “rebuild” ahead of the new season. One thing is clear — the “Lions” are preparing for a new chapter.

For context, Pakhtakor collected 60 points in the Super League last season and finished second. The club is not limiting this transfer window to departures only: earlier, Pakhtakor also announced the signings of Oybek Bozorov, Sherzod Nasrullayev and Sanjar Quvvatov.

Now the focus is on how the newcomers will adapt and what kind of spirit and pace the team’s play will gain. Such a “breath of fresh air” before the season can sometimes make a team stronger — and that’s exactly what Pakhtakor fans are hoping for.
