Inter centre-back Manuel Akanji, whose team are holding on to the top spot in the Italian league, spoke openly about his future. The Swiss defender is currently on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season and has quickly become one of the most reliable players in Milan.
Speaking to Sky Sport journalists, Akanji did not hide the situation and stressed that everything is still ahead. He said he currently feels very free and happy at Inter, and it is clear that the atmosphere, working routine and overall processes suit him perfectly.
“What will my future be? If I knew in advance! I’m happy at Inter, everything is going very well. Closer to summer it will all become clear, but I hope to stay here next season as well,” the defender said.
For the record, Akanji has made 22 appearances for Inter this season and has stood out with consistent performances in defence. Transfermarkt experts value him at €22 million.
