Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola shared his thoughts on the team’s goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Guardiola said he knows Donnarumma well for his talent and experience.
“Donnarumma operates at a very high level with short passes. With long passes he may not reach the level of success people associate with Ederson, but no one can match Ederson in that area,” Guardiola said.
According to Guardiola, Donnarumma is “very calm” and excellent at starting attacks through short passing. In such moments, his ability to make the right decisions and read every action with a long-term view shows why he is successful.
Guardiola also highlighted Donnarumma’s qualities in greater depth, signaling trust in him during matches. For the record, Gianluigi Donnarumma moved from PSG to Manchester City in early September.
