Arsenal's management is fully satisfied with the work of head coach Mikel Arteta. According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, the Gunners intend to further extend their cooperation with the Spanish specialist.
According to sources, the club wants to extend Arteta's current agreement until 2029. The current contract expires in June of next year. So, "Arsenal" wants to act ahead of schedule and establish a "peaceful regime" regarding the coach: as long as there are results, there's no need to take risks.
For information, Mikel Arteta has been managing Arsenal since 2019. Since his arrival, the team's game has shown system, discipline, and character - which is the most difficult "currency" in English football. This season, Arsenal remains in first place in the Premier League table with 49 points, 6 points ahead of their closest rival. In such a situation, it's natural for management to view Arteta as a "long-term project" - the team is at a real pace on the path to the championship.
Not only in the national championship, but also on the European stage, the "artillerymen" are showing themselves confidently: Arsenal took first place in the Champions League group stage. This result means that Arteta's team is competitive not only in the domestic league but also internationally.
Arteta had previously stated his goal of winning the FA Cup and all major trophies. In short, the club's plan is clear: there's a road, there's a steering wheel, so there's no need to change the driver yet. Now the biggest challenge is to maintain this stability even in the decisive months of the season. If the result and the game remain the same during this period, the 2029 problem will accelerate in practice, not just on paper.
