The latest heated rumors about former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane have resurfaced. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, there is a possibility of Zidane becoming the head coach of the French national team after the World Cup, and there is also a verbal agreement with the French Football Federation.
Explaining the discussions on this topic, Romano recalled that Zidane is constantly surrounded by rumors related to Real Madrid or other top clubs. In particular, there were various reports that he might return to the Madrid club in December. However, Romano believes there are other candidates in the potential change scenario at Real Madrid: he said that if Xabi Alonso leaves, the option of Arbeloa, who has been working in the club system, would be more logical, and Arbeloa still remains in the club's structure.
Regarding Zidane, Romano has clearly stated the main point: there is a verbal agreement that he will take over the French national team after the World Cup. For now, it has been emphasized that all attention is focused on preparing for the World Cup with current head coach Deschamps.
Here, Romano highlights another important aspect: the federation, the players, and Deschamps himself are in a respectable position. No one needs to create the impression that "the coaching position is being vacated" when there is a huge tournament ahead. However, it is expected that after the World Cup, Zidane could return to coaching and manage the national team.
However, Romano himself eventually pulls on the brakes: this is only at the level of verbal communication for now. In football, especially regarding coaches, "100 percent certainty" is rare - the situation can change in a day.
