Changes in team style? First of all, I want to thank the previous coach (Vitaly Levchenko). Resignation is the fate of a coach. The team mainly played defensive football last season. We have made changes in this regard and are forcing the team to play offensively. The guys are carrying out the given instructions. I thank them.
The selection in the center? Considering the opponent's strong central midfield, we decided to field two key midfielders - Jokić and Ratiño. But they are different. If Jokić makes more defensive moves, Ratiño can also actively join the attack. There are many contests at the center. Those who were ready for today's game came onto the field.
Did we win thanks to skill? I think Pakhtakor was no less skilled than us. They also have many national team players. In such finals, under pressure, tactics disappear, and character comes to the forefront. Today the guys showed character, and therefore we won.
Gegenpressing? Yes, we studied Pakhtakor. Many teams pass the ball to "Pakhtakor," and therefore they freely come to the second and third parts of the field. We pressed from the very first minutes to prevent this.
Negatives at the beginning of the season? I was surprised. On the contrary, Uzbek coaches should be supported. After all, we are here. We will strive for this homeland. I don't pay much attention to them. My goal is to strive forward, to respond to incorrect opinions with my work and results," Ismailov said at a press conference.
