Font reacts to Laporta victory

Viktor Font said he was disappointed after losing the presidential election at "Barcelona", where Joan Laporta has been chosen to lead the club once again. Font said his team had hoped to change the club and bring it closer to the fans, but accepted the result because it must be respected.
After the vote, Font congratulated Laporta and the newly elected board. He also defended the project he presented during the campaign, saying his group had offered a different vision for "Barca" and would continue to stand by those ideas. According to Font, their work was aimed at serving both the club and the wider Catalan community.
Font added that he will remain active and keep working toward what he called his dream of turning "Barcelona" into the club he has always wanted to see. His comments suggest he does not plan to step away from the public life of the club despite the defeat.
Laporta previously served as president of "Barcelona" from 2003 to 2010 and again from 2021 to 2026. He is expected to officially begin his new term on July 1 and remain in charge of the Catalan club until 2031.
